Keihin Electric Express Railway Co., Ltd. (Keikyu) is one of the 15 major private railways in Japan. Serving as a link between central Tokyo and the southern metropolitan area, Keikyu plays a vital role in Tokyo’s public transportation system. Since its foundation in 1898, centering on the mainstay rail and bus transportation businesses, Keikyu and its Group companies have expanded their operations to include real estate, hotels, leisure services, and retailing, and are working to achieve prosperity far into the future.

Linking Shinagawa, which is expected to flourish as Tokyo’s gateway, with Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport), and Kawasaki, Yokohama, Yokosuka, Zushi, and the Miura Peninsular in Kanagawa Prefecture, Keikyu’s railway network stretching 87 km serves an average of 1.22 million passengers a day. Shinagawa Station, Keikyu’s terminus, is only 17 minutes (by the most rapid service) from Haneda Airport and connects with the Tokaido Shinkansen, making it a key transportation hub.

Operating Haneda Airport Station, directly connecting to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Haneda Airport, Keikyu plays a key role in providing convenient access to Haneda Airport. The Keikyu Group is channeling its resources to Haneda Airport-related projects, including construction of a new station linked directly to the new international terminal building in line with the repositioning of Haneda as a fully fledged international airport in 2010.
